In 1983 at the age of eleven, Sebastien Flute first took up archery in Brest, France. His international career began with the junior French team in 1988. In 1991 he won the World Indoor Championships held in Oulu, Finland. Barely four years later, with a title of world indoor champion under his belt, he defended France's colours at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, winning a Gold Medal. Several individual and team medals later, he retired from international competition after the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, finishing eighth in the individual event. Subsequent to his retirement, Sebastien established SF Archery and has worked on developing a range of high quality archery products by forging a link with Win & Win, one of the world's leading archery manufacturers. In 2009 Flute announced an ambitious goal - to compete in world events in an endeavour to be selected in the French archery team for the London 2012 Olympic Games.
