Hoyt 2009 Vantage Bows Shine at Utah Easton Open
Dec 08: Hoyt's hometown played host to the recent Utah Easton Open and Hoyt shooters armed with the new Vantage Elite and Vantage Pro took centre stage. The 2009 season is off to a great start for Hoyt and the new product line of its compound bows is being very well received. At the two-day, Vegas-style event in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, the action was intense.
The Easton Open is a compound tournament and there were 5 shooters tied for 1st place at the end of the tournament with all 5 shooting the new Hoyt Vantage Elite. All 5 shot 2 - 28X 300 Vegas rounds! They went to a shoot-off and it was nail-biting with Braden Gellenthien putting on a total smoke show and taking the top spot, with Reo Wilde and Dave Cousins rounding out the top 3. Keith Trail, Roger Hoyle, Benton Christensen, Kevin Wilkey and Josh Schaff filled the top eight spots for Team Hoyt.
The event was the first major indoor tournament of the season and it proved to be a true test of Hoyt's new Vantage Elite and Vantage Pro bows. Six of the top eight shooters shot the new Vantage Elite. Gellenthien, Wilde, Cousins and Hoyle all posted unbelievable perfect 28-X 300s with their Vantage Elites both days of the tournament, proving the amazing accuracy of Hoyt's new premiere target compound bow. Keith Trail with his Vantage Pro and Benton Christensen with his Ultra Elite also posted two solid 300 rounds.
Also of note was Team Hoyt Pro Staffer and Hoyt Compound Pro Staff Coordinator Kevin Wilkey winning the 3D event with his Vantage Elite. It was the first 3D event of the season and yet another testament to Vantage Elite's amazing accuracy.
Cousins and Gellenthien recently wrote a featured article for Hoyt.com in which they praised the Vantage Elite for its accuracy, stability and all-around awesome performance. They predicted the bow would be the talk of the tournament circuit and after only one event, it's clear that Hoyt's new Vantage Series bows are the bows to beat this year. There's no doubt that the new bows are incredibly accurate!
Now it did not stop there. On the same weekend at the Face-2-Face tournament in Amsterdam, Holland, Hoyt completely dominated this event with Hoyt shooters winning 9 of the 12 medals including a complete sweep of the men's compound division.
It is hard to believe but 2009 model Hoyt bows are already making their presence felt. We would like to congratulate Hoyt shooters involved in both events on their incredible performances.
