Hoyt Concept XTS 40 Description
Maximum Stability. Built for the longer draw archer
The Hoyt Concept XTS 40 is the longest standard draw model in the Concept XTS range and is designed for archers who favour maximum stability, a generous string angle and the composed aiming characteristics of a full sized target bow.
With a 40 inch axle to axle length, 7.25 inch brace height and a draw length range extending from 26 to 32 inches, the XTS 40 provides the familiar proportions many competitive target archers prefer while incorporating Hoyt's latest developments in tuning, cam technology and shot refinement.
For archers drawing around 30 inches and above, the Concept XTS 40 provides an exceptionally stable platform with a comfortable anchor position and generous string angle at full draw.
SCTR 2.0 Cam System
The Concept XTS 40 uses Hoyt's latest SCTR 2.0 cam system. Hoyt revised the draw force curve to create a smoother front portion of the draw and a smoother transition into the valley while maintaining the solid full draw characteristics competitive shooters expect.
Combined with Hoyt's proven 11.25 inch TXL limbs, the Concept XTS 40 produces an ATA rated speed of 329 fps.
XTS Tuning System
The defining new feature of the Concept XTS family is the XTS Tuning System. Integrated into the limb pocket system, XTS allows the archer to make extremely precise adjustments to bow tune without requiring a bow press for many tuning operations.
A shooter can use XTS to achieve a clean paper tune or use its more advanced capabilities to refine horizontal and vertical nock travel, holding weight, group tune and the dynamic reaction of the arrow.
Built Around Stability
The XTS 40 is designed to create a calm and stable shooting platform. Its longer riser increases the bow's resistance to movement and creates the generous string angle many longer draw archers prefer.
The Concept platform is also engineered to minimise rotational translation, helping the bow maintain natural target alignment at full draw and reducing unwanted horizontal nock movement through the power stroke.
Balance and Stabilisation
The XTS limb pocket system adds a small amount of mass towards the outer ends of the riser. This positioning contributes to greater pitch resistance and stability.
The Concept XTS also provides multiple stabiliser mounting locations, giving competitive archers considerable freedom when balancing a fully accessorised target setup.
Refined Sound and Vibration
Revised riser machining, the SCTR 2.0 cam system and WireWRX strings work together to reduce residual vibration and sound while preserving the feedback target archers use to evaluate their shot execution.
SCTR 2.0 Module options
The draw length specific Spec Modules provide excellent efficiency and a firm wall, while the rotating CDM and TDM modules provide broader adjustment ranges and alternative draw characteristics.
Standard let off positions are 65%, 70% and 75%. The optional Tweener Mod Foot provides additional settings of 67.5%, 72.5% and 77.5%.
Modular Grip System
The Grip System provides grip plates at 0°, +4° and +8°, with each angle also offered in a reduced draw length version. This allows the archer to make very small changes to bow fit and draw position.
