New Recruit from Canada joins Abbey Archery

January 15th 2007

Jan 07: We are pleased to announce the appointment of our new Sales Representative, Ed Wilson, who will drive our 4.5 tonne pantechnicon truck which services our dealers throughout the east coast of Australia, from Cairns in far north Queensland, through New South Wales to Victoria, a distance of some 3200 kms or 1900 miles. (If you are using Internet Explorer or Firefox as your browser, hover your cursor over each image to read the photo captions) Our truck sees snow in the Australian alps...snow is normal for Ed

We have recruited Ed, an archer from Winnipeg, Manitoba, in Canada and he and his wife are migrating to Australia under the sponsorship of Abbey Archery. We expect their visa application to be approved over the coming weeks, whereupon Ed will fly out to start with us, joined at a later date, by his wife.

I never knew there were so many archery parts

Ed comes from a strong retail background and has also gained a wealth of experience, over many years, working part time in an archery pro shop and indoor archery range. All products are bagged to seal them from dust and protect and prevent friction damage to clamshellsWe are sure you will find him friendly and helpful. Once Ed gets acclimatised and settled in, Brian, our National Sales Manager, will be taking Ed around to progressively meet our customers and we are sure you will find Ed of great benefit, once you establish a rapport with him.

Nearly as much stock here as a pro shop carries

He has shot competitively at an international level at FITA tournaments in many places around the world (Spain, Cuba, China, Europe to name a few) for a number of years and achieved pretty good results Most products have to be re-bagged after each trip as constant friction wears the bagand has a lot of knowledge which he will be only too pleased to pass on. Please don't feel in any way embarrassed in asking Ed questions. He is always happy to help and it doesn't matter what the question is.

Over the last few months while we have been arranging for Ed's migration here, Brian has been filling the void as much as possible, calling on as many dealers as he can.
