The platypus has a bill that resembles a duck's bill and is 30 cm to 45 cm or 12" to 18" long; the flattened tail is 10 cm to 15 cm or 4" to 6" in length and they have webbed feet. Its body and tail are covered with a thick, soft, woolly layer of fur, from which long, flat hairs protrude and it has three layers of fur and can weigh 1 kg to 2.4 kg or 2.2 lb to 5.3 lb.
