Our news this week is that we have acquired another four product lines:

Last week we received our initial shipment of bowstrings & cables from Winner's Choice. We stock two-colour buss cables, strings & sets for some Hoyt bows. News for the week ending February 20, 2010

During the week, we received another Slick Trick broadhead order. We have more stock of all heads and spare blades including RazorTrick 4 blade broadhead 125 grain and RazorTrick 4 blade broadhead 100 grain, GrizzTrick 125 grain and GrizzTrick 100 grain as well as Magnum 4 blade broadhead 125 grain. Magnums were the first super short broadhead back in 2000 and are strong with superb penetration and reliability. GrizzTricks spin true, are super sharp out of the pack, the ferrule is super hard and they do not bend after many shots. RazorTricks are patterned after an old Indian arrowhead and are an outstanding low energy head, cutting hide and flesh. Every season the legend grows.
We have changed the product page display, moving the product description up the page and thus making it easier to read. This allows you to read more about the product without needing to scroll down. We hope you find these improvements beneficial.

2009 Bows on Special. We have some great compound bow specials where you can save a bundle on the new bow price. More Lumenoks from Burt Coyote arrived last week. We now have stock of all Lighted Nocks for Signature & Super Nocks, Gold Tip, X Nocks and H Nocks in both orange and green. The Lumenok requires no magnets, no glue, contains no switch or moving parts and there is nothing to attach to your bow, or glue into your arrow to make it work. Lumenoks are easy to use and contain a simple circuit. They fit most popular arrows and it allows you to follow your arrow flight easily. A small Spot-Hogg order arrived last week including some Infinity Rests and Dave's Best Blade Launchers in four sizes, so you can choose the blade thickness that suits your arrows. We have .008" and .010" blades in both .2" or narrow and .3" or wide. These blades are designed and endorsed by champion archer Dave Cousins and suit Spot-Hogg Infinity, Rover, Platinum & Premier Arrow Rests and many other makes of rests. While the club listing has only been on our website since early last month, it has received a large number of visits which means that members or intending members and visitors are looking up club details. We wish you a Happy New Year and hope 2010 is peaceful and prosperous for us all.
Our stores at Castle Hill in Sydney and Sumner Park in Brisbane re-opened last week, after the Christmas break and it was good to meet many customers who were on holidays, who called in to visit our stores. Some folks had travelled as far as Darwin. We hope that we have lived up to your expectations.
We have been busy over the holiday break making minor changes to our website, mostly small, to improve the performance and your enjoyment of browsing on our site. However we have also amended products, especially arrow rests. Previously, we listed the right hand and left hand model of each arrow rest, now we have only one product featuring and you select if you want a right or left hand rest. This makes it easier for you to view all arrow rests.
Another order from Jim Fletcher arrived last week and includes the ever popular Tru-Peep Sight, the .44 Caliper Release Aid with deluxe velcro wrist strap, also available as a buckle strap for consistent draw and silent removal of the strap, when out hunting.

Our much anticipated Cartel container, with over 9,000 items, finally arrived last Wednesday after a two week Singapore pitstop & extended shipping delays. It took all our Abbey team 4 days to unpack, barcode & pack away stock. Some new products are being uploaded progressively onto our website. These include Midas Plus Plunger, the top quality Midas ABS Hard Bow Case, the very well priced, value for money Midas Take Down Recurve Soft Bow Case, the innovative Cartel Exercise Band, the Midas magnetic bow stand, the ultra lightweight Cartel Midas 105 aluminium carbon bow stand and the functional low cost Cartel ground quiver and bow stand. Our Castle Hill Pro Shop received a visit from Australian motorcycle racer and 2007 MotoGP World Champion, Casey Stoner and his lovely wife, Adriana. Casey has been a long time archer, having owned and shot compound bows for many years. He proved that he is no week-end wonder with a bow when he was able to group his arrows testing out his new Hoyt Vantage Elite bow. We have some photos of Casey's visit in the rotating images feature at the foot of this page.
In response to strong interest in Martin Shooter, Laura Francese, we have added more images in our Laura Francese rotator.

Our Allen sea order arrived and includes extra wide camo soft double compound bow cases, camo Trailblazer backpack/quiver combo, orange safety hunters' vests, camo tape, camo paint kits, two types of compasses, Ninja points, Spider mechanical broadheads, Abbey Goanna arrow rest, Abbey Frilled Neck Lizard Thumb Trigger Releases and Abbey Bilby Hand Held Bow Scales. The bow case is excellent value and is very well made.
Another order of bow string and serving material from BCY came in. We have expanded our range of 452X bowstring material to 27 colours in one & two-colour blends and in 1/4 lb or 4 oz and 1/8 lb or 700 feet sizes. 8125 is now in 5 colours and we have 2 new DVDs and a CD on string making.
Brownell string and serving materials also arrived in that same shipment and we have Diamondback serving in two colours - salt & pepper (black & white) and now green/black blend and in 3 diameters - .018", .022" and .026" so you can custom fit your string to your nocks. We stock D Loop material in 100 feet rolls and 3 feet or 36" lengths.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Grant Hughes from Spokane, Washington, USA who arrived last week and has joined our Castle Hill staff. Grant has been a long time 3D & indoor compound archer and has had success at club and state levels, as well as bowhunting around Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska & Hawaii. He joins Shaun Napoli to serve the needs of target, 3D and bowhunting customers. More Tusker broadheads arrived including Spirit screw in and Javelin screw in and the full range of DVDs. The just released DVD, hot off the press from Tusker - Wandering the New England Ranges. The DVD has action hunts of Deer, Goats, Foxes, Pigs and a feature by Graeme Duff on whistling and shooting foxes.
Our Viper Archery order came in with the famous Viper D-Loop Pliers to ensure you make D-loops the same length each time and they will not slip or turn. We now carry 4 Viper sight and scope covers, including the extra large in camo and black. You need protection for your scope and sight and these are just the thing.

NEWSFLASH: To save all those folks who have been phoning us, our initial order of 2010 Hoyt bows � all 103 of them, finally arrived last night. Order now.
Our 190,000-strong Trueflight Feather order has arrived and we have more 2.5", 3", 4", 5" parabolic, 4" & 5" parabolic barred, 4" & 5" shield back, Full Length, Cut to length Flu Flu & 5.75" Maxi-Fletch feathers. Most sizes & shapes are in all 11 stocked colours & some are sold in smaller packs. All feathers, as usual, are up to Trueflight's extremely high standards of quality & colour. Feathers are the Rolls Royce of fletching & are faster than plastic vanes.
Our OPTi-Logic Rangefinder order arrived with more stock of the popular black 400XL, 400XT Tilt Compensated in black & camo & top of the range 1000XT Tilt Compensated in black & camo. OPTi-Logic were the inventors of tilt compensation technology - when you view your target, you see how accurate OPTi-Logic rangefinders are. We have some very glowing reports on the performance & accuracy of OPTi-Logic.

We received more books and a new title Simple Maintenance For Archery by Ruth Rowe, a former US Olympian and Alan Anderson, which covers all aspects of maintaining and repairing your equipment & has loads of illustrations. A must for any committed archer. We have more of the ever popular Fred Bear books & their new prices reflect the improved Australian dollar, also Instinctive Shooting and Early Adventures with Howard Hill.

News for the week ending October 24, 2009

The 2010 Hoyt range has been released and we have uploaded all bows to our website. You can check out all the specs and our large high quality images on each bow page. Hoyt have really turned the archery world on its head with the introduction of its lightweight compound carbon risers, which have been fully tested - run over on an asphalt road by a pick up truck. Like everything Hoyt introduces, it hits the road running and Abbey should have our 2010 Hoyt bows in our stores by mid November.
It is often said that you need to read the book first. More books arrived with plenty of stock of "how to" and instructional titles. Check them out.
We are slowly getting back to full stocks of Doinker products and another arrived - the big daddy, Doinker 11.5" A Bomb Carbon Elite Hunter Stabiliser black.
Abbey Archery is very proud to have assisted in the publication of the Australian Bowhunters Association's new guide. It is titled "Field Archery Guide for New Archers" and covers all topics in archery. Excellent value, 65 photos & illustrations, 48 pages and would be a great addition to your book collection.

We have just received a new DVD, Advanced Arrow Building by Jim Rebuck. It covers all aspects of decorating your arrows and splicing feathers (putting a second colour in your feather). Some arrows are works of art. The DVD shows that it is possible for the average archer and bowhunter to make their own beautiful arrows.
Our latest shipment from Toxonics arrived and there are more hunting sights like the K9 5 pin sight, the harmonic damper model. As well, we have an extensive range of target sights from the Silver 3575 to the Black 1400. Accessories include Quick Disconnects and Stabiliser Offset Brackets to make it easier to install and take off your stabiliser from your bow.

Our Selway Archery traditional recurve & longbow quiver order arrived. The rawhide hoods are all beautifully hand stitched & the love that goes into each quiver is quite evident. Also more of the lighter, rubber hood model. If you have a trad bow, you owe it to yourself to buy a Selway quiver.
We received our 754 kg PDP order of 96,000 points & the unloading got all our teams’ hearts beating on a cold Sydney morning with some cartons over 35 kg. More GameNabbers & new insert weights which sit inside shafts to give just that extra bit of weight. Now to count & bag those points…

Martin air order arrived with 6 pallets of accessories, compound bows & ready to shoot bow packages as well as the long awaited, most attractive Jaguar hunter black recurve. We are sure the Jaguar will be well received. Since it was hung on our shop’s bow rack, it has received nice comments.

Freight rates slashed to Europe and North America. We have negotiated with our freight forwarders, approximately a one third reduction in freight rates to Europe and North America, effective last Tuesday. So, the reduction now applies to Europe, North America and New Zealand.
Our Jim Fletcher release aids and Tru Peep sights shipment has arrived. We have stock of all release aids including the .44 caliper release in both velcro and buckle. There has been an upsurge in interest in Tru-Peeps mainly because they are quality and made of machined aluminium.

Our SURE-LOC order arrived late last week with large stock arriving of Supreme in silver and black and Challenger in black compound sights in both 4” and 5.5” vertical frames and Quest-X in silver and black and Contender-X in black recurve sights. As well, there are Tape Magnifiers, Scope Covers, Lens Cleaning Kits and Scope Dot Transfers.
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Shaun Napoli, long serving member of Northern Archers of Sydney who has joined our Castle Hill staff. Shaun’s principal role is administration but also involves helping archers, new and old, with their archery needs. Please drop in and say hello to Shaun and you will be sure to get a warm welcome. Shaun has shot a recurve for many years and about 2 years ago, switched to compound, so he knows recurves as well as compounds.
Shaun joins Chris Campbell, our recent appointment in our Brisbane store, who has been involved in archery since he was a youth. Chris’ friendly and easy going manner has been a big benefit in helping archers and bowhunters in the Brisbane area. Please drop in and have a chat with Chris.

5 oversized pallets of Martin bows and accessories arrived in our warehouse last week. New bow packages include Martin Cheetah, Leopard and Monster Buck. Also delivered was a large quantity of accessories including gloves, arrow rests, game points, bow slings and arm guards.
