AAE or Arizona Archery Enterprises, Inc. of Prescott Valley, Arizona, USA is the world's largest manufacturer of nocks and vanes. AAE started as Plastifletch by Max Hamilton in 1948 and Max cut the first vanes with scissors and templates, then progressed to a cellulose extruded material and a punch press. Max wanted to make a vane to improve flight accuracy and consistency for target archers and bow hunters and Plastifletch became the Number 1 target vane in the world. In 1972 Tom & Millie Fisher and Charlie & Liz Sandlin purchased Plastifletch from Max & Jewel, his wife.
AAE started injection moulding vanes in 1974 because of the lack of quality extrusion equipment and started making Plastinocks and moved to their current location in 1977. AAE has led the industry to be the largest manufacturer in the world.
In the 1980's, Arizona made more innovations and diversified into custom injection moulding with their sister company, Arizona Applied Engineering and by 1991 had computer controlled extrusion equipment to make vanes faster and of better quality. Tom & Millie retired in 2000 and sold AAE to their sons, T.J. and Dan Fisher to continue the family tradition.
In 2006 AAE purchased Cavalier USA from Dick & Diane Tone and changed AAE to AAE Cavalier USA. Dick is a former US Olympic Coach and has designed many archery products and stayed on to develop more archery innovations. AAE also introduced in that year, its third generation plastic vane, the Plastifletch Max, named as a tribute to the founder of the plastic vane, Max Hamilton.
Each year in their catalogue, AAE invariably include photos of the factory and the floor of their production facilities is spotless - a feature not lost on customers. Every product that AAE produce reflects the company's absolute commitment to quality and service.
Abbey Archery has had very happy relations with Arizona Archery Enterprises, Inc. going back a very long time and their products are of the highest quality and their service is top class and continues to surprise us.
AAE Elite Plastifletch vanes feature first and come in 5 sizes and in 10 colours in packs of 100 and also in packs of 25, then Plastifletch Max and Plastifletch Max Hunter all in 4 colours in packs of 100.
